Background:	MBD7 is a protein containing a methyl-CpG-binding domain that acts as an anti-silencing factor that prevent gene repression and DNA hypermethylation by tethering other anti-silencing factors to methylated DNA, which enables the function of DNA demethylases that in turn limit DNA methylation and prevent transcriptional gene silencing.
