Background: |
CNGC18 is a member of the cyclic nucleotide gated channel family that is asymmetrically localized to the plasma membrane at the growing tip of the pollen tube and is involved in pollen tube growth and pollen tube guidance to ovules. It likely directly transduces a cNMP signal into an ion flux that can produce a localized signal capable of regulating the pollen tip-growth machinery. Also functions as a Ca2+ permeable channel. |
