FER1 is a ferretin protein that is targeted to the chloroplast. FER1 is one of the Fe storage protein ferritin.

Among 25 analyzed species, the sequence of the synthetic peptide used for immunization is 80-99% homologues with the sequence in Hordeum vulgare, Brassica napus, Zea mays, Sorghum bicolor, Glycine max.
